The area code 952 is a North American telephone area code in the state of Minnesota. It covers the southwestern suburbs of Minneapolis, including cities such as Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, and Shakopee. The area code was established in 2000 as an overlay to the existing 612 and 651 area codes in order to accommodate the growing population and demand for telephone numbers in the region.
